Chief Richard R. Anderson, C.F.P.S.,
Chief Anderson is the program director for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives Program known nationally as the “Everyone Goes Home” program. He is responsible for direction of the projects aimed at the implementation of the 16 firefighter initiatives designed to reduce firefighter line-of-duty deaths. He serves on the Board of Directors for the International Association Fire Chief Safety and Health Section, Industrial Fire and Safety Section, New Jersey Society of Fire Service Instructors and is a member of the IAFC Life Safety Section. Chief Anderson also serves on two NFPA technical committees: Disaster/Emergency Management & Business Continuity and Laboratories Handling Chemicals, he chairs the NFPA Executive Committee for the Lodging Industry Section. Chief Anderson was recently selected to revise two chapters in the twentieth edition of the world renowned NFPA Fire Protection Handbook.
He worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for 34 years serving as Industrial Fire Chief /Emergency Response Coordinator in manufacturing operations and as Corporate Staff, as Senior Fire Protection Engineer, and Global Program Lead for Life Safety-Loss Prevention-Emergency/Crisis Management. He has served as the Director of Training for Woodbridge Township and Middlesex County Fire Academy; a chief Fire Officer of Colonia ( District 12) Fire Department, Woodbridge Township for eight years. He also served as the first Chief of the Woodbridge Township Hazardous Material Emergency Response Unit. He is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist; N.J., State Certified Fire Inspector Investigator, and Fire and Hazardous Material Instructor. Anderson serves on the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety Training and Education Advisory Committee and is Vice President of AndersonManning Media Group www.andersonmanning.net .
