HONG KONG FIREFIGHTER KILLED-OTHERS CRITICALLY INJURED

A Firefighter died in the Line of Duty this morning and 3 others were injured critically while operating at a fire in a Hong Kong factory Monday. Officials said the Firefighter was overcome by smoke on the fifth floor of the factory in the Cheung Sha Wan area. 47-year-old Senior Fireman Yeung Chun-kit was killed in the Line of Duty.
The fire was in a 5th floor knitting factory in the Lai Cheong Factory Building at about 0820 hours (Hong Kong time). Firefighters had difficulty fighting the fire, hampered by fire and heavy smoke conditions along with access issues. FF Yeung was from a Rescue Company breathing apparatus team, he joined the Fire Department in 1984 and was promoted to senior fireman in 2005. He is survived by his wife and their 20-year-old daughter. Our condolences as always.
