Bio :
Chief Gaumont is the Fire Chief for the City of Watertown, New York. His 35 plus year fire service career has encompassed 21 years with the United States Air Force, as well as periods with the Portage, Michigan, and Ipswich, Massachusetts Fire Departments. Chief Gaumont has a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Safety Engineering and Technology from the University of Cincinnati, and an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from the Community College of the Air Force. He is a 1998 graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, was one of the first 15 Designated Chief Fire Officers in 2000 was re-designated in 2003 and 2006, and was the recipient of the 2000 International Association of Fire Chiefs Benjamin Franklin Departmental Leadership Award. Chief Gaumont is a past member of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs Board of Directors, was the 2004 New York State “Career” Fire Chief of the Year, has been a member of the IAFC since 1988 and is the IAFC’s Safety Health and Survival Section Secretary. He is married to Shannon (Reese) his wife; they have two children, Daniel and Heidi, and two grandchildren. |
