 John F. Sullivan
Bio :

District Fire Chief John F. Sullivan is a 21 year veteran of the Worcester Fire Department in Worcester, Massachusetts. Chief Sullivan currently holds both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and serves on the Associates Degree Curriculum Committee for the National Fire Academy’s Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) committee. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Anna Maria College and Quinsigamond Community College in the Worcester area. Chief Sullivan is in his 4th year of the Executive Fire Officer Program.

District Chief Sullivan lecturers nationally on firefighter safety and survival issues including, lessons learned from the Worcester Cold Storage and Warehouse fire in December 1999. He has collaborated with the National Fallen Firefighter’s Foundation on the several projects including, authoring a white paper for Firefighter Life Safety Initiative #4, “All firefighters must be empowered to stop unsafe practices”; serving as an LODD subject matter expert for development of both an associates and bachelors level courses on reducing firefighter deaths and injuries; and appearing in the “Everyone Goes Home: Promoting Firefighter Safety through FESHE” DVD. He is also currently serving as a member of the editorial board fro FireRescue magazine.

Chief Sullivan is a lifelong resident of Worcester, where he and his wife Bethe reside with there four children, Kimberly, Cassidy, Andrew, and Kevin.
